Aaron Murray - Founder
Aaron has spent the past 13 years building experiences around the globe. His first project ever, a transforming mobile skate park in South Africa opened his eyes to the joys that building unexpected experiences can bring to other people. Since that first effort, Aaron has been in pursuit of building as many unique and transformational spaces and experiences as possible.
After South Africa, he settled in Portland to do custom experiential work for Nike and adidas, before joining Second Story Interactive Studios to focus on more cultural and immersive tech spaces. When Second Story folded during Covid, Aaron founded One & 0 to continue his fascination with unexpected interactivity.
In his free time, Aaron pursues non-screen based hobbies like golf, scuba diving, and building Legos.

Approach
-
One & 0 actively seeks out skilled team members from different continents, cultures and backgrounds to fill key roles. This ensures that we never fall into wash/rinse/repeat mode with either our approach or concepts. Fresh voices with different lived experiences make the concepting, design, and production phases more robust for a more satisfying final product.
-
Our primary team is split between Cape Town, South Africa and Portland, OR with additional team members in Atlanta, GA. This distributed structure ensures that we can work in real time with clients in their home time zones from Portland to Dubai, or we can work asynchronously to lengthen workdays. This serves to consolidate timelines and deliver projects more efficiently than a team only located in a single geography.
-
Through years in the creative industry, we have learned that many studios carry significant overhead that both limits their adaptability and the types of projects they take on. One & 0 commits to always provide a boutique, personalized, and flexible approach to clients and partners. This allows us to scale our team, cost, and communication to meet a variety of client types and project sizes while also ensuring that clients always have a direct line to key team members and studio leads throughout the project.
Values
-
We actively search to build better, stronger, more meaningful relationships and products that defy expectations. We do not let fear of trying new things hold us back.
-
We frequently challenge our internal approach to teamwork and clients. We actively strive to not fall into copy/paste mode. When presented with a problem, we provide solutions.
-
We care about each other, our clients, our fellow citizens, and the world around us. This belief shapes how we approach every project, relationship, and communication with the goal of building respect and showing grace to those in our lives.
-
We take the time and commit the energy to properly plan and deliver a great product, on time, as promised. When we misstep, we own our mistakes and actively work to right the ship. We do not skirt our responsibilities or turn a blind eye to challenges or deficiencies. All of this is done with the utmost respect, since we are all human.
